Kearsarge Shirley
Kearsarge Shirley (Shirley, MA)
Kearsarge worked closely with a private landowner, National Grid and the Town of Shirley to design and permit this array as a best use on a parcel of low-development potential land abutting a regional transmission line corridor. To protect the endangered Wood Turtle, Kearsarge worked closely with officials from MassWildlife’s National Heritage and Endangered Species Program, to craft a construction and site maintenance strategy that was Turtle-friendly, anticipating its activity patterns and vulnerabilities.
All energy generated from the array is helping affordable housing organizations; in addition the Town of Shirley is receiving significant tax revenues over the life of the project.
