Kearsarge WWTP (Westborough, MA)

Kearsarge developed, constructed and financed this 992 kW DC ground mount solar array located at the Westborough Wastewater Treatment Plant in Westborough, MA. Kearsarge was awarded the rights to develop the project through a public procurement process run by the Treatment Plant. Kearsarge worked closely with the Town of Westborough, the Plant and the Plant operators to develop the site while providing the opportunity for further public use along the Assabet River. All energy generated by the project is directly offsetting a portion of the Plant’s electricity usage and reducing its operating expenses. In addition, Westborough will receive significant tax revenue over the life of the project. The project was completed in December, 2016.
