Smithfield 3.0
Kearsarge Smithfield (Smithfield, RI)
About the Project:
This nearly 12 MW DC array spans about 50 acres in the town of Smithfield, Rhode Island. The site is located in proximity to a brownfield site, further showcasing Kearsarge’s efforts to turn unutilized land into an environmental asset. The array is one of the largest in Rhode Island, with utility scale inverters on site, and direct ISO NE communications and control functionality. Prior to and during the construction process, Kearsarge designed and built the site to meet the challenges of steep topography, adjacent wetlands, and unusually rocky terrain, commencing operations in March of 2023.
